NYC Salon #48: Crush Club

May 16, 2017 @ 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Ruth Tupe has spent over a year exploring the depths of the dating industry, trying to identify whether the current set of apps and experiences actually facilitates human connection.

Her thesis journey led her to many unique experiences, strange discoveries, and a fair degree of skepticism about the state of the technology designed to “help” us. In her talk, Ruth will share her journey from her initial desire to fill the gaps in the dating market through an app — to her pivot into creating “conversational furniture’ — to, lastly, the final form of her thesis, an event she calls Crush Club, which ties together over a year’s worth of findings about how we connect and form close bonds.
